Why is my hair thinning?
The truth about hair loss (and what you can do)
If you’ve ever brushed your hair and thought, “Wait… is this normal?”… you’re not alone. Hair shedding and thinning are some of the most common (and stressful) concerns I hear about.
Here’s the good news: in many cases, you can stop it and even grow more hair than before.
Common causes of hair loss or thinning:
Hormonal shifts (think postpartum, perimenopause, thyroid changes)
Stress (your body often diverts resources away from hair growth)
Nutrient gaps (low protein, iron, or certain vitamins)
Scalp health issues (inflammation, buildup, or poor circulation)
Genetics (less controllable, but still manageable with the right care)
What’s reversible?
Stress-related shedding
Postpartum hair loss (it usually peaks around 4 months and improves within a year)
Nutritional deficiencies
Scalp inflammation
A healthy routine (inside and out) can make a huge difference. Think: nourishing your body with protein and micronutrients, gentle cleansing, scalp care, and products that support regrowth instead of weighing your hair down.
👉 Next week, I’ll share how to spot the early signs of hair damage vs. just dryness—because knowing the difference changes how you care for it.
In the meantime, if you’re curious which products I personally recommend to support healthy growth, just hit reply and I’ll send you my list.
And if you want to know more about how to support your specific hair issues, fill out my hair quiz (it’s free!) and I’ll send over personalized recommendations for you!
