Happy Friday!

Back to our regularly scheduled Friday newsletter 💃

Gabe and I had a really interesting conversation the other day and I wanted to share it with you. So backstory is that the transition from one to 2 is challenging (no surprise there). But this conversation was around how each of us thought the other was handling the stress so much better than the other.  I looked at Gabe taking on basically all of the household responsibilities plus his job and taking or both kids whenever he could and thought to myself why do I feel like I’m drowning and I just want five minutes to myself? And Gabe looked at me spending all my time with Charli and Shay thought to himself why is she so relaxed when there’s so many things to do?

I think that this is a really good reminder that you never know what someone else is thinking unless you ask them. Especially in marriage and parenthood, staying curious about your partner literally resolve so many feelings of resentment or like your partner, doesn’t understand you.

This full-well knowing that we have it really, really easy. We have family around, and thankfully Gabe’s job allows me to be home with our babies. But sometimes I think we get a little too wrapped up in thinking we have no right to feel overwhelmed, when in reality, parenting is hard, no matter how much you love it or are fulfilled by it.

So today, I’d love to encourage you to find where you could be curious about your partner 💛

I saw on Instagram the idea to freeze little figurines in water for toddler play, and I tried it this week for Shay and it was a hit! Because it’s so hot in Central Texas already, playing with the ice cubes was a great outdoor activity. I added the popsicle trays and little figurines I ordered to my outdoor activities list on my Amazon storefront!

My favorite pregnancy and postpartum loungewear brand is having a great summer sale! There are six different bundles for under $75, and their bras, tees, shorts, joggers, and nursing tanks are all super soft and great for summer. Check them out here!

I’ve been using our wagon as a bassinet for Shay since we got it. But I didn’t think to try and put Charli in there until this week. It’s been great for her to nap in while Shay plays outside, and all I did was put a folded-up towel in the foot well, and then laid two folded towels across the bench. It’s perfect because she still gets the shade of the wagon, and I don’t have to worry about not being able to move her if the sun moves! This is the wagon we have in case you want to check it out.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for this week, enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you next week. Same time same place.

Xoxo,

Arielle
