Happy Friday!
We went on a plane this past weekend for the first time with two under two
It honestly started out on a good note; We got the car packed got through security without a hitch, and had plenty of time to explore the airport before boarding. But we ended up on a full flight on Southwest, which, if you’ve never flown Southwest, our friend refers to the seating arrangements as “Lord of the Flies”. We tried to sit together in one row, but ended up with another person in the row with us. We quickly learned that we couldn’t have two lap infants in the same row With another person sitting there too. Turns out this is because there are only four oxygen masks in each row.
To make matters worse, there was a mechanical issue and the plane sat on the tarmac without power (or AC) for an hour. We had very sweaty babies.
But truth be told, the rest of the flight really wasn’t bad, And the rest of our trip was great.

We decided to bring our guava jogging stroller for this trip, because it was the most compact option for us, and it has the most storage which was great for our longer day trip to the aquarium and my days with the two babies while Gabe worked. I basically wore Charli, and pushed Shay in the jogging stroller. It was super comfortable for Shay, and great for me because I didn’t have to lug a bag around.

I shared last week, a reel about the travel toybox I put together for Shay. We had never done that before, but it ended up being the best thing that we could’ve done for him for the trip. I used this container because it’s a good size for travel, and I put these animal figurines, these toy soldiers, this tape, and crayons. I did a mix of things that were novel to him and things I know he likes, and even the box itself was something to play with. we will absolutely be packing a toybox for every flight and trip from now on!

Being out and about all day every day with a baby that nurses in the carrier, I wore my bodysuit with a layering tank over it, and this was my other favorite outfit: these running shorts with a liner and this tank. My Amazon sneakers held up great, too!

This weekend we’re going to watch my father-in-law in a bike race, and the rest of the weekend is going to be super chill (or as chill as it can be with a toddler and a baby).
Happy weekend before Fourth of July, hope it’s a restful one!
Same time same place.
Xoxo,
Arielle
