Happy Friday!

Hi Mama! Happy Friday!
Our busy travel month is behind us, and we are settling in for about a month before heading out on our next trip in May (we’re going to Ecuador!). My goal this month is to get our garden set up and ready for the grueling South Central Texas Summer 🥵.
Two years ago, I planted WAY too many squash plants, and they overtook the garden and I got overwhelmed and just let it get overgrown and die 😅. Last year, I did nothing with it because I had a young toddler and a newborn and no bandwidth to keep additional plants alive. This year, however, I am harnessing my newfound tradwife vibes and I am planning to revamp our garden to grow something.
Considering our family doesn’t like many of the veggies we could grow in the summer here, I am opting for native Texas plants that are mosquito repellants, some pretty flowers to feed the pollinators in the area, some blackberry bushes, and some succulents. Oh, and tomatoes, because everyone loves tomatoes 😛.
I learned that we need a sunshade to cover the garden, because we don’t get enough shade from the trees in that spot for the South Central Texas summers, so I am using this one. I’ll zip tie this to the top of the garden fencing and that should allow some sun to come through without overdoing it and frying everything in the middle of each day!

I bought Shay this busy book for our trip in May to Ecuador, and at the last minute brought it on our California trip this past weekend for Charli. I wasn’t super confident she’d use it all that much, but decided it was worth a shot to try and she ended up loving it! It was the only thing we brought to entertain her and it did the job! The inside “pages” zip out to make it smaller if you need it (which was great for the car).

I don’t share often about my skincare routine because honestly, it feels too simple to share about, but I feel like we could also use some simplicity in our lives now! Recently, I have been using the cleansing oil and then the Soothing Cream from Primally Pure. That’s basically it. I use their Baby Balm for some added moisture around my mouth and nose sometimes, too. Literally that’s it. My skin feels SO good. What do I love about them? All natural, non-toxic formulas, but they feel like luxury and everything smells amazing. I also use their deodorant and it doesn’t clump which is a major plus considering its aluminum-free and all-natural ingredients.
All my photos from this past weekend are of Gabe. Charli, my mom, and I because we traveled out to San Jose, California so Gabe and I could go to Ava’s Kitchen. It’s an incredible event that raises funds within the Jesse Rees Foundation to give back to families of children with pediatric cancer. You can learn more about Ava’s Kitchen and the Jesse Rees Foundation here.
See you in two weeks, same time same place.
Xoxo,
Arielle
